Window seats are a versatile feature that can have any aesthetic you like, from cozy to chic. The trick to creating a window seat that beckons you to enjoy the space is coordinating it with the surrounding décor while also allowing it to stand out. Amazing Blinds & Shutters has many great ideas for decking out your window seat, and we’re excited to share them.
Styling Bay Window Seats
Solid chairs and benches have their purpose, but a plush window seat is far more inviting. Ensure your window seat has layers of texture, like fluffy cushions, overstuffed accent pillows, and nubby throw blankets. You can install track lighting or sconces so people can enjoy the space even after the sun goes down. Make the space extra enticing by placing a small table with some reading material at one end of the seat. Large potted plants or trees are a relaxing, refreshing addition to your window seat if space allows.
Window Seat Window Treatments
A window seat becomes much less welcoming if you experience a blinding glare and zero privacy when you sit there. We recommend using fabric window coverings, like Roman or cellular shades, to enhance the comforting vibe of the window seat.
